I started building this page just before Christmas 2009,
so if you have a puppy from me and do not see your update here, please send one.
I look forward to hearing from everyone. Thank you!
Thank you for loving and supporting our canine family!

He is such a joy.

Thank you so much for helping us with our first dog! We absolutely love MOJO. He'll be 2 years old in June...time flies! We decided on a shiba for many reasons after reading up on them in a dog book. He's a manly/macho little dog who's perfect for small home. He learns well, doesn't bark all the time and is very loyal. He's great with our kids and loves the cat. He's protective, cautious, playful and totally lovable. He loves to listen to the kids play piano - he'll sing (howl) for a whole 5 minute stretch - it's so funny! I've even caught him trying to kiss the cat! She just sits there and lets him get nose to nose. We've never had any unusual problems with him at all. Puppy hood was rough, but he was our first dog and so we had no idea what we were doing. His nature (and cuteness) made it easy to love him anyway. We definitely plan to get another shiba in the future...when we buy a little bigger home. Thanks again for making the process so easy and for offering such a wonderful breed.
The pics from left to right - Mojo learning to walk the treadmill (for those below degree days when we can't get out), puppy pose (about 3+ months), happy & passed out puppy, Mojo enjoying a little massage scratch

Hello
Teresa. I
received your
email around
Christmas. I
apologies that
it took me so
long to
respond. Our
little Shiba is
named Dinx. Our
daughter played
club volleyball
and No Dinx was
one of the
tournaments she
played.
Dinx is a
wonderful dog.
She lives on a
one acre fenced
site in the east
region of
Sacramento
County known as
Arden Park. We
also have a
yellow lab.
Unfortunately
the lab (Sunny)
is 12 and does
not play with
Dinx. Dinx is
also our Alpha
Dog, which works
with the lab.
She is VERY
friendly and
loves children
and strangers.
Dinx loves to
chase the
squirrels,
birds, rats and
other creatures
that wander in
our backyard.
She has reduced
the squirrel and
rat population
dramatically.

Hi Teresa!

Teresa,
We are so happy to have
Keiko, everywhere we go with
her we hear,"what kind of
dog is that? She's
gorgeous!" Keiko has now
been with us a year and it
has been an amazing journey.
Keiko was housebroken within
the first week of being
home, and did great when we
registered her in puppy
class. Our trainer was
impressed by how smart...but
stubborn.,..she was....Keiko
was definitely the class
clown but you should see all
the tricks she can do.
I'm so happy that she stays
on command and stays with us
at the dog park, Keiko will
not run off like what I had
read about Shibas doing.
She is great with kids and
can be trusted with even
very small children.
Keiko just started at
"doggie daycare" and is
loved there as well.
She's very outgoing and
social with dogs of all
sizes....early socialization
definitely pays off. I
would say the only issue we
are still working on is she
chews on EVERYTHING but
she's getting better as she
gets older. She is a
beautiful, fun, and loving
dog and a great addition to
our family. I would
recommend you as a breeder
to anyone interested in a
Shiba. I've attached a few
photos for you too
Thanks again,
The Boodles

Teresa,
Hi, here are a few pictures of Buddy. He is just a little over 1 year old. He turned out to be a great dog. It was a little rough in the beginning but was expected. The kids love him.
Thanks,
Brian

Teresa,
A couple pics of the kids. He is doing great, potty going well. opening up and showing a little mischievous side. very cute though.
Thanks for the gift from all of us especially Sasha, she loves her little brother.

HI
Teresa
Here is Samurai at
13 1/2 months. He
is a very good boy.
Notice he has his
own CHAIR>>>
otherwise not
allowed on the
furniture - husband
strict rule.. He
enjoys the SNOW - we
have plenty... He
goes for his 3 yr
Rabie booster this
next week and do you
recommend the
heartworm treatment
for this type of
dog...?? He has a
hearty appetite. He
loves TREATS.. and
he gets along well
with other dogs. HE
still HATES HATES
bathtime.. My
husband does that
and he listens to
him but me he goes
crazy.. That is
suprising to me
since he loves to go
under the snow... I
start running the
bathtub water and he
goes
HIDES!!!!!!Thanks
for the coupon but
no more puppies
here... When we
travel it seems that
is the hardest with
a dog... he comes
along in his kennel
and it's okay going
to my daughters but
if we go elsewhere
that doesn't allow
dogs in the house
etc... we feel bad
for him having to
stay in his kennel
or on a tie out...
For Christmas he got
his own stocking -
with his name on
it... SPOILED and a
new collar & leash..
I also entered him
in the AKC DOG
magazine for best
looking and getting
in trouble... If he
gets in I will send
you a copy...Well
take care WELL HAVE
FUN WITH THOSE
PUPPIES!!! DEBBIE

Teresa,
Hi Long time since I sent an update. Sam is doing great. This past year he gets to stay openly in the house while we are gone shopping, church or other for about 5 hrs at the most and he is excellent. He still has that tendency to dart so he is on a run when outside and loves his buddy Zorro my daughters pug.. Sam was attacked this summer by 2 pit bulls next to us but he put up a good fight and we all turned out okay with 1 bite to the butt. no scares...
Dont forget to visit Window World on Clairemont my sons business.
Take care DEBBIE HEINZ

Teresa,
He is a wonderful
boy and we love him
to pieces! The
first one was the
day after we
picked him up from
you, so he was just
a baby then. The
one of him standing
was from late
summer, and the last
one was from
Christmas. I'm not
a big picture
taker, but will
attempt to take some
more and get them to
you over time.
Thanks,
Natalie

Hi Teresa,
I just wanted to send you a little note that Keiko is doing great here. She adjusted so quickly to life in our house, she investigates everything but is afraid of nothing. I thought everyday noises like vacuums and coffee grinders would scare her, but she is never afraid, she will always keep playing as if nothing is going on. She is so outgoing and playful. When we introduce her to new people she goes right up to them and is very curious, she's not even afraid of the neighbor dog who is much larger than she is. The neighbor's dog growled at Keiko and she stood her ground and wanted to play now the dog is afraid of Keiko, it's kind of funny. I am sure they will be friends as Keiko gets older. It's amazing how much she has grown in the past week:) She never soils in her gated area while we are gone, potty training is going well. She is smart, once she figures out how to escape or how to do something she does it over and over, her latest conquest was going up the stairs. She is still too small to go down though.
I sent a couple pictures so you can see her. She is so cute and so sweet, she is a perfect addition to our family.
Thanks so much!
Jamie

Dear Teresa,
It has been almost a year since we purchased our Princess Keeko and she is doing well. She is a bit stubborn, but that's expected from her breed according to many books. She is a true princess and expects to be treated as such. It's her way or the highway & everything belongs to her as far as she is concerned. One thing we have got to break her of is her digging. She has not quite reached China yet, but is almost there. She loves her family & especially her best pal Rocky. She is often found snuggled up to him fast asleep.
Sincerely,
Steve

Dear Teresa and Family:
In a few days, it will be 3 years since Ruby arrived on Long Island to share our home.
Just a note to let you know that she is still beautiful and has become a delightful pet. Thanks again and have a very HAPPY HOLIDAY & NEW YEAR!
Ruby and the Shermans.
Here are pics of our
terrible two year
old Yoshi doing two
of his favorite
things: sleeping and
looking for
something to tear
up. He is a good
boy though; he just
likes to eat
anything he can fit
in his mouth. He
gets along well with
our miniature
schnauzer and our
kids.

Hi Teresa!
Aiden is doing really well! I took him to the vet on Tuesday and everything went very smoothly. Everyone in the office was impressed with how OK Aiden is with being handled. He's a very good puppy! We're learning his rhythm and working on his schedule, and he's getting better about not running after the cat too! We're still working on things like walking out the door with a leash and harness (he has running back in the door down!) and housebreaking, but he's off to a really good start! My dear friends have a Sheltie named Elwood who's a few months older than Aiden, and all caught up on his shots, so we're going to start socializing them the second week of March. It should be adorable!
I've attached some
more pictures. : ) I
also have more on my
camera that I'll
send your way when
they're offloaded!
Love Andrea
Hi Teresa!
Aiden is approaching
his 8 month
"birthday" and I
just wanted to send
you some more
pictures!
Aiden is without a
doubt a truly
amazing dog. He
literally astounds
us on a daily basis
with his
intelligence and
problem solving
skills. He's cheeky,
thoughtful and
incredibly loving --
not to mention drop
dead gorgeous. I
can't take him 5
feet from the house
without people
commenting on how
handsome he is, how
fox-like and
composed.
One of his favorite
games is "shred the
junk mail" as
evidenced in the
pictures I'm sending
-- we have to vacuum
every other day just
to keep up with him!
But it's great
motivation for
keeping the house
clean.
If you have the
time, I'd love to
know if you think he
resembles his
father, or mother,
or maybe another
relative -- we
couldn't meet your
other dogs in person
but I'm fascinated
by the Shiba Inu
breeding history.
Aiden's great
grandfather is
particularly
gorgeous!
Also, the new
puppies on your
website are
ADORABLE! : )
Love Andrea

Hi Teresa!
As we approach Aiden's 2nd birthday (I can't believe it!), I wanted to send you some pictures and say hi!
(I saw your mixed colors Shiba litter on the website from August and I was whisked back to the days when I pined for a cream Shiba. They are adorable!)
I hope all is well out at the kennel. As you can see from the pictures, Aiden is thriving in his status as foxy king of the household. In the past 6 months or so he was become a total lap dog -- unless it's hot inside, you can almost always find him on the couch with us at night. He still loves sleeping at odd angles and barking at the UPS guy (but not the postal carrier - so funny!). He has developed the most beautiful, leonine ruff on his neck, and yet his coat is still extremely sleek and not-fluffy... I have to admit, when I saw pictures of his dad, I wondered if we'd be grooming a puffball! But so far, he's sleek and slippery and loves dodging between legs playing tag. We take him to the beach sometimes (never off the leash though, sadly) and he and Danny sprint up and down the waterline. Greyhounds have nothing on a fast Shiba! Aiden doesn't have an ounce of excess fat on him - he's all compact muscle and lean lines. I never get tired of watching him move because every movement is precise and controlled. I can only liken his trotting to that of a show horse - it's that clean and steady. We've met some very "Japanese" Shibas and every time we do, I'm so grateful for Aiden's more balanced appearance; I love his larger ears and his round eyes.
Thank you again for raising such wonderful dogs - anytime Aiden gets a compliment, I tell the person exactly where he came from and which kennel is responsible for his excellent health and breeding. : ) We cannot imagine life without Aiden, he was truly the perfect dog and he came along at just the right time.
Happy Holidays!
Love Andrea (and Danny, Aiden, and Lara the cat)
Hi Teresa!
I just got your Christmas email! Thanks so much for sending it along, it was a treat to see Aiden all small and fuzzy again!
I'm forwarding you an email I tried to send a week ago - I think it may have got caught up in my outbox (if it didn't, please for give the duplication). Feel free to post any of the updated pictures of Aiden!
Also, a quick question - I believe Fonzie's Lil Richie is Aiden's sire. Is that correct? I have his paperwork filed away in a cabinet (we finished moving a little while ago) and I can't reach it to read the history.
Thanks again, and wishing your entire family out there a warm holiday!
Love Andrea
Teresa,
Here's some pictures
of Colby and Jack
(Colby's the
Tricolor and Jack is
cream)
We love them so
much! They are so
great! We brought
them both to dog
obedience classes
and they are so
smart, they can sit,
shake, rollover,
highfive, dance, and
do heel and all that
general stuff. They
are the loves of me
and Eddie's life! We
are so grateful for
them especially
around the holidays
here and we get to
watch them prance
through the snow
(they look like
little deer). Me and
Eddie will
definitely be buying
another Shiba
eventually, they are
the greatest dogs
and so well behaved-
I couldn't ask for
better dogs in a
million years.
Let me know if you
want anymore
pictures!

Have 2 Shiba Inus from Hestekin Hills
I bought my first Shiba Inu (now 1 year old) from Hestekin Hills and loved how they handled the "sale" so when I found another gorgeous Shiba Inu that they were selling I just had to buy him as well (Got him 1 week ago). Now I am the proud "mom" of two gorgeous Shiba Inu's and couldn't have thought of a better breeder to go through. They are very professional, dogs are very well taken care of and absolutely beautiful and mine both were up to date on shots and already had been microchipped. Amazing breeder, highly recommended!! **Not to mention the price- at first I thought it was a little steep but looking at other breeders it isn't that bad, and you really get your money's worth- these are amazing dogs :)
Megan
Shiba pup.
We got our shiba pup from Hestekin Hills last weekend. He's adorable and very cute. Teresa was quick to respond to emails and phone calls and was great to work with! My parents now want to get a shiba from her next year.

Very Excellent Breeder
I bought this high quality adult male Shiba Inu with a very competative price in February. Everything is the same as what Teresa described. I strongly recommend this breeder. Firstly I thought what if "Hestekin Hills", located in Wisconsin, is a kind of scam. I almost gave up and tried to find another breeder near my home in California, but she kept reducing my worries patiently. I am happy that I trusted her, and I got a marvelous boy! He is amazingly well-behaved and trained. So far so good! Thank you Teresa!!!

Wonderful Breeder!
We bought our male Shiba Inu from this breeder and we couldn't be happier! The breeder was friendly and extremely detail-oriented. The health of the puppies is definitely foremost in her mind, both before and after the sale is finalized. She was very professional and responded to all our questions in a timely fashion. Our puppy was shipped to us within a few days, in a wonderful crate, with enough food and vitamins to get him settled. He was handled and socialized from an early age, and it shows! He is happy, healthy and very loving. If you're looking to bring a Shiba Inu puppy into your home, and you have a cat, I have to recommend this breeder because our male puppy was already familiar with cats when he arrived (he is still playful/curious, but not scared or mean). Our puppy's quality breeding lines are apparent, both in physical markings and behavior -- everything about him says, "Look at me, I'm a little champion!"
Andrea
Quality does matter...
Not many have show quality dogs they sell for pet prices. I got to pick my puppy, then got to choose what price I wanted to pay for my puppy, show price or pet price. I of course, just wanted a pet, so I only paid 1/2 of what another person might have paid for this very same pup. I don't know why anyone would actually buy "pet quality" when they can get the best show quality puppy for a pet price. My girl is gorgeous, we get endless compliments on her and even other breeders approach me asking where she came from. Imagine how wonderful this makes us feel! We have the best quality money can buy and we paid the average "pet" price! Thank you Teresa for a wonderful job.
Karen
Our new adorable addition to our family!
Your in good hands if your looking for an honest person selling a perfect puppy through the internet. It's scary, but as your doing now; we read the reviews and felt confident we were doing business with an honest person. She even has a website: http://www.hestekinhills.com/arealperson.htm which warns everyone about internet scammers. The description and emails stating the facts and terms of the adoption were perfect and our puppy arrived via airplane safe and sound. Now we have a wonderful addition to our family. She is a beautiful, sweet, happy, & healthy puppy.
