I started building this page just before Christmas 2009,

so if you have a puppy from me and do not see your update here, please send one.

I look forward to hearing from everyone.  Thank you!

Thank you for loving and supporting our canine family!

Teresa,

Here are pictures of Payzlee and Bella shortly after we got them.   I'm glad we were able to stop in last weekend so you could see them again.  We had a long drive back to Missouri and the pups were great travelers.  Stephanie and Jenna love their puppies.

Thank you.

Hi Teresa,

Monte is doing great! He has doubled in size and weight, which amazes us! He's already completed puppy school and knows sit, down, shake, leash and a bunch of other stuff. He's quite a little devil and I'll be glad when all the puppy biting stops, but we wouldn't trade him for anything!
Thanks again.

Tracy

Hello Teresa and family,

Here are your friends in Allenstown, New Hampshire, writing to you and wishing you a very Happy New Year.

These dogs are our life, and their personalities are  so different. Brody is very heavy and should probably go on a diet. We will be discussing this with out vet at his next check-up.He has slowed down in the cold weather. He talks all the time as well. He is so totally lovable.

Emmett is much smaller in size, as he is still very active and loves to play. He is a kisser, and loves to be on our lap early in the evenings when we are watching TV.

They get along quite well together, and Reba seems to play the role as Mom to them. She is the smallest of the dogs, but when she speaks they listen. It is all very sweet, and we are having the time of our lives with them. Reba is the pack leader, after Steve and I.

Reba bonded extremely well with Brody, and they both bonded well with Emmett. That is not to say that they do not have their moments, but we have no complaints whatsoever with our dogs.

Steve and I are looking for a female, that would make our family of 2 boys and 2 girls. All are fixed and all microchipped. Our entire family enjoys our dogs with us, and we are so fortunate to have them.

Any new pic's would be appreciated if others beyond the website.

Looking forward to hearing from you

Most Sincerely

Steve & Kathy

                 Sir Brody @ age 2                              Mister Emmett @ age 4                              Reba @ age 5 1/2

Teresa,

Here are pictures for your site!

Teresa,

Kananga has been fantastic.  It’s been just over a year since I picked him up and he has adapted very well.  If I recall, he had just turned 8 months old when I got him.  Now he’s just a few months away from being 2 years old and he has turned into such a wonderful Basenji.  He has made a lot of friends in the building and always enjoys meeting new dogs.  Although he can be a bit shy of new people (seems like a normal Basenji J  ), he is always curious and warms up to people after he’s had a chance to meet them.  I took him lure coursing this past summer and he had a blast!  It was quite entertaining to see his prey-drive kick in and sprint across the field.  It was also fun to meet some other local Basenji owners.  I haven’t had much time with him on tricks, but he always knows to sit before he has his meal.  He’s also very polite about sitting/laying down for when it’s time to go outside, makes putting his leash on even easier.  I was surprised that he is not a counter-surfer.  I was so used to having dogs that would do this, so it caught me off guard that he doesn’t even try.  He’s a perfect example of a “respectful” Basenji.  I sure got lucky!

He’s a quiet boy but he’ll let you know when he wants attention (you mentioned this to me actually before I got him).  He’ll let out a “roo”, but will also do that when he’s a bit nervous (in the car) or when he’s just yawning from exhaustion.  Those B-500s can really exhaust a lot of energy after awhile, and he loves to do those on a daily basis.  I know I could never keep up with him but he is really good about sticking close by.  I think he has gotten loose once or twice the entire time I’ve had him and he’s never darted.  He knows he wouldn’t be spoiled off on his own.  J

 I hope all is well!

 Chase

Hey Teresa!

It's just the Conn's checking in again!  :-)

We are still in Texas, but ready for some cooler weather.  The heat is more than we anticipated it would be...although Tut LOVES it!  He just sits outside for hours staring at the trees and sun.

We recently found a nice dog park that he can run and play in.  He plays in the backyard, but to keep him socialized, we take him to the dog park as often as we can.  This past weekend there was a photographer taking pictures for his portfolio.  He offered to send us the pictures if we let him use Tut as one of his "models."  Attached are two of the pictures he took.  We get a lot of compliments on his beautiful coat and gentle disposition.

Anyway, hope all is well with you!  We still enjoy looking at your puppies.

Take care,

Angie

Hey!

Here is a fairly recent picture of Tut.

Hope all is well!

Angie

HEY!

It's Blake. How have you been? I'm happy you sent an email because it reminded me that I have to send you those documents about Kaiser. He has been doing really well and looks as healthy as can be. I barely know where to start haha. He listens very well with the sit, stay and shake commands. I've been teaching him some other tricks for when I give him treats and he catches on really fast. Just this last week I was teaching  him to lay down when I make a certain sound and he caught on with in the first training session! It's crazy how smart he is. I have some pictures I just took that I will put in here. I should also try to send you some video of him sometime. He is so funny when he gets dog bones. I'm not sure if all basenji's do this but it makes me laugh everytime.

I live in a house with six other people and another dog so it keeps him really busy through out the day if I'm gone. The other dog that lives here is a bulldog and they play all the time, even though they're nothing a like. They get a long very good and when they get tried they will even take naps together :)

We have devloped an awesome friendship and I don't know what I would do without him. We do pretty much everything together and have so many stories already. Also my mom can't wait until I come home so she can see Kaiser haha. She spoils him so much, you have no idea. I like to say thank you again and would recommend you anytime to anyone if they're ever searching for a new loving family memeber.

Here are some recent pictures I took of Kaiser and I will probably be taking some more over Chirstmas and his Birthday that I could send to you.

Happy Holidays!!!

Hello Teresa,

Just another great update on Magnus and Mavrick. They are the best of friends, when ever I tell Magnus we are going to see Mavrick his ears perk right up and his head tilts. I think Magnus has finally caught up in size with Mavrick!! They get to play with each other everyday for at least an hour. Magnus is our boating dog and my parents dog Mavrick is there camping dog and they both have life jackets when they are on the boats:)  My Boyfriends Mom and Sister recently made a calendar of Magnus for his Birthday LOL. Every month had Magnus in a different outfit, they baby-sit him when we are out of town and spoil him like no other. They are our babies, family, best friends and nothing will ever change. My parents, Blair and I could never thank you enough for the two best dogs ever. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Sincerely, Blair,Heather,Kemp,Terri,Mavrick,and Magnus!!!

Romeo celebrated his 1st birthday on Dec. 15th!  Here are some pics!

Theresa,
Hope you and yours are having a great holiday season.  I'll be sending you a photo of Bodhi here in the near future.  Had him go into a local training outfit (best in region). Best Basenji they have ever had.  They want to use his picture on their website.  He is a great pup, although a bit precocious.
Regards,
Bill

Teresa, Here is a picture of our baby in her Christmas Dress.  She is a chum, has her own personality.  We love her with all our heart.  Hope you
have a Merry Christmas.. Got your card.  I would love to have another puppy but Jim says No, Molly is a hand full.

Hi!

Meg, Jeff & I volunteer as Mentors with a group called 'Give Me 5' at Milaca Schools. One of the things GM5 does is go to the Elim Nursing Home in Milaca were we visit some of the residents and play Bingo with others.  When ever possible Ruby & Charlie go with us to spread their kind of joy with the residents. Last Tuesday Ruby & Charlie, Meg, Ben, Rachael and I made our rounds and I wanted to share some photos with you all.

I hope all is well you all,

mikki

Hi Teresa,

I hope all is well with you and your family. I can't wait to see the photos of the new puppies for this season.

As you can tell we just love those two puppies to pieces!!!! Who would have figured they'd have us tied around their little paws like they do. Jeff even goes back in the bedroom after he gets up to cover Charlie back up, he gets cold you know.

One day here soon I'll have Meg take a short video of Charlie jumping for a treat to send to you. That sweet boy jumps up so high!

well, my best to you and your family. I hope the holiday season is a healthy and joyous time for you and your family.

Sincerely,

mikki

Teresa,

I attached pictures in this e-mail - he doesn't like to sit still so the pictures might be a little fuzzy. I will send more this weekend.

Steve and I were wondering if you received the 2 pictures that we sent to you of our Brody ?? He is so great. We need to get a new computer for home as we are having more difficulties with it.
How is my new pup doing?? Are we all set to ship him on Feb 22nd, as I am requesting the next week off from work for vacation. Need to know shipping cost as well, so that we can get that to you. Oh! I have a question. Do allpets go in the cargo to ship ? I was just wondering about that.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Steve and Kathy

Basenji Tri-colored Male

Teresa was very helpful and informative about our new little guy. She called and e-mailed to make sure the travel arrangements were convenient for me to pick him up at LAX in California. Along with the travel crate, she sent a collar and leash, a packet of puppy food to start and his papers were in an organized puppy kit. I could tell the health and safety of her puppies is very important.I would highly recommend her to anyone who is buying a basenji.

Basenji Pup

Our family just adopted a 6 month old basenji pup from Teresa and could not be more pleased. Teresa is great with communication and truly cares about all of her animals. The puppy, now named Gidget, is in excellent health and is getting along great with our 2 boxers and 2 children. We feel fortunate to have found Teresa.....very very pleased!!

Tracy

Hey Teresa:

I loaned out my good camera, so I have been using my phone, so they are not the best quality, but here are a couple.  She loves the boxers, especially the  male (brown one).  Here are a couple new ones.  I was trying to make the bed and neither of them wanted to move, so I worked around them.  I actually found Gidget and Max like that.  She loves to curl up between his legs and nap.

Thanks again,

Tracy

Kobe

I recently adopted an adorable puppy from Teresa, who I named Kobe. He is so healthy and has such an amazing personality, i really could not have asked for more in a dog. All of his documents including his microchip papers, neutering, shots that were given and the exact dates, as well as his rabies shot certificate were provided by the breeder in such an organized way that when I took him to the vet the first time, the receptionist was amazed at how well organized all of his papers were. Me and Kobe bonded immediately, he really is such a great dog and it is so obvious that he comes from an exceptional breeder. I highly and strongly recommend Teresa as a breeder to anyone who is interested in adopting a basenji, you will be extremely pleased about it!

Very pleased

I had been looking for an older Basenji puppy but knew i'd have to travel to find the right one. Luckily I came across Hestekin Hills which was a little over an hour away. I met with Teresa and saw the brindle 8 month old Basenji puppy. He was in great shape and everything seemed in order. I picked him up a couple weeks later and could not be any happier. He was 100% healthy and adapted to his new home very quickly. He has to be the most well behaved puppy i've ever come across. Teresa must have done a great job from the beginning raising these puppies. She knows these dogs very well. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a Basenji.

FANTASTIC BREEDER

I bought Molly Mae in April of 2007 she was 3 months old 5 pounds. I had looked and looked on the internet and locally for a Brindle Basenji Puppy. I finally found Molly Mae at the Hestekin Hills - I talked to Teresa email and on the phone she sent me 5 pictures that I fell in love with. Teresa made the arrangements and Molly was flown to us in Sarasota florida. You couldnt ask for a better breeded and person. I send pictures of our lil girl to Teresa - she is a winner, she took 2nd place for best dressed. You wont be disappointed if you buy from Teresa.

Thelma

Here is Molly 2nd birthday

Theresa here is a 2009 xmas picture of Molly, cant believe she will be 3 this
coming Friday.  Merry Christmas to you and you family and a Happy New Year.

Our Basenji the beautiful Nina

Our experience with the purchase of our Basenji was great!!! Our breeder Teresa was awesome. She really worked with us on the timing of obtaining our dog. She was so flexible with our schedule. Also very helpful with all the questions we had about our new family addition. I would recommend her to anyone who wanted to add a Basenji to their household. She is wonderful, very knowledgeable, helpful and super easy to work with. Thankyou, Ginger

Glad we went with Hestekin Hills

We inquired about a basenji puppy that we fell in love with at first sight...and she answered all our questions and within 7 days the Tri color Basenji that we call Duke was on a plane and on his way home....CANADA....1045 miles away...we went to the airport and picked him up and he was perfect...he is healthy and very happy...we dont think we could have went anywhere better...deffinatly recomend Hestekin Hills...

steve

We just wanted to send you some pictures of Duke. He is an excellent addition to our family and is fitting in quite nicely here. He has opened right up to us and is becoming more and more relaxed every day. So many people comment on how cute he is, so we have been refering your website to them so they too can get a Basenji.
It must be quite warm there, he shivers in this "cold" canadian weather. Almost needs a coat for the summer time too.
We have sent you a few pictures of Duke to show you how well the lil guy has been doing, he is coming along quite nicely on his house training too, hes had a few accidents but in general hes got the hang of doing his business outdoors. He is also amazingly well on a leash, we have been going for lots of walks in the parks around here and he stays right beside us the entire time. We will definitly keep in touch and continue to send photos as the little guy grows, thank you so much for him, as I said before he is an excellent addition to our family.

To whomever is looking for a new addition to your family you came to the right spot. Teresa, (the owner) is very helpful. She shows concern for her puppies, she contacts you for updates on how the puppie is doing and is very helpful with everything. We have had other dogs before that we traveled aways to get but this was the first one I picked up a the airport. She made all the arrangements for the flight so all we had to do was pick her up. When, (down the road) we decide to get another puppy, I would definitely go through her. If you have any questions, call her before you buy, "SHE IS VERY HELPFUL"

Shaun

Quality does matter...

Not many have show quality dogs they sell for pet prices. I got to pick my puppy, then got to choose what price I wanted to pay for my puppy, show price or pet price. I of course, just wanted a pet, so I only paid 1/2 of what another person might have paid for this very same pup. I don't know why anyone would actually buy "pet quality" when they can get the best show quality puppy for a pet price. My girl is gorgeous, we get endless compliments on her and even other breeders approach me asking where she came from. Imagine how wonderful this makes us feel! We have the best quality money can buy and we paid the average "pet" price! Thank you Teresa for a wonderful job.

Karen

Our new adorable addition to our family!

Your in good hands if your looking for an honest person selling a perfect puppy through the internet. It's scary, but as your doing now; we read the reviews and felt confident we were doing business with an honest person. She even has a website: http://www.hestekinhills.com/arealperson.htm which warns everyone about internet scammers. The description and emails stating the facts and terms of the adoption were perfect and our puppy arrived via airplane safe and sound. Now we have a wonderful addition to our family. She is a beautiful, sweet, happy, & healthy puppy.

Anne

What a great little puppy!

From the moment we called Teresa inquiring about a Basenji pup, she was nothing but helpful and professional. Well worth a drive to make sure we got a well cared for puppy from well cared for parents. He is a little ball of energy and loving every minute of his new home. Thanks again!

Dave

Chloe is very smart.  Chloe has learned many tricks like sit, stay, and lie down. Also since she can't bark we taught her to ring a bell we put on our door knob so we know when she has to go out. Her personality is wild yet calm. She loves to snuggle with people and she loves to play in the snow. And we really think that she fits our family perfectly.
