Internet scamming runs high
How can I reassure you as the adoptor of this puppy that
I am a real person and not one of the millions out there scamming
people?
I have had so many people ask me this questions lately and I have done a
lot of thinking on this subject but there is no for sure easy answer!
Helpful information:
1. I am a CGC evaluator, you can see the list of Wisconsin
evaluators online at:

2. You can verify that I have had a paypal account since 2003: tar9091@aol.com
3. You can call my bank (Wells Fargo) and ask them if I am a long
standing customer. I have banked with Wells Fargo bank
since 1985 or so, my maiden name was Teresa Remington and I married
David Hestekin in 2001. We have been with Wells Fargo bank this entire
time.
1. A persons who refers to their little bundle of joy
as an "item"
2. A person who lists the puppy as "in excellent condition" as
though he or she were a car
3. A person who does not have a website with additional
information and pictures for you as the potential adoptor to
see and acquire information from. A website is not necessarily
for sure proof, so read the site and still be careful!
4. A person who
states they are from Africa, Lagos, Nigeria, Cameroon or London.
5. A person who insists you use Western Union or other money transfer
services. This type of payment offers ZERO protection.
6. A person who speaks of missionary work or AIDS relief work to build
trust.
7. A person who cannot provide additional 'personalized' photos.
Usually you can tell a real breeder or puppy owner from someone
who is stealing pictures online by the way they talk about their
dogs or puppies and also by the way they represent their puppies
to you. I have talked to quite a few people recently who have
been scammed though so some of these scammers are sneaky! Be
very careful!
Even if you do not plan to or you are unable to pick the puppy
up in person suggest to the seller that you are willing to take
a flight or a lengthy drive and you need directions to their
place so you can come visit the puppies in person. By getting
their physical address, now you can do mapquest and be sure this
address exists? Be sure to ask them to email you
directions from one of the Hwys that happens to be in this
general area so you can see if they are familiar with the area.
Ask questions, lots and lots of questions! If you get funny
answers back or their answers do not make sense then stay clear
of this person and whatever you do "do not send them money".
Paypal has claimed to be a safe way of transferring money but I
recently had an adoptor send me funds by way of paypal, they
then came to my house and picked the puppy up in person as they
were from Ohio. About 6 weeks later paypal
reversed the funds and claimed that the account was used by
someone other then the account holder! I sent paypal the
information I had on the individual but paypal being a large
business did not seem to care. This is one of the reasons why I
do not prefer paypay - on the other hand paypal is nice and
convenient to use for deposits and for payments but how do I
know you are who you say you are? I now ask that you scan in
your drivers license and send me a copy to varify who you really
are.

Beware of
these persons: Christopher Morgan and Jeremy Morgan made payment by paypal on April 11 and paypal reversed funds on May 21st with the reason stated as: "Unauthorized Use of PayPal Account" It did not matter that I had a signed contract and his DL #

I feel that all of the scams taking place on the internet all go
back to the foreign countries trying to break our general trust
in each other. It has gotten to the point that we are afraid to
exchange funds with each other. The internet is getting to be a
pretty risky place to buy or sell and for some reason this is
their goal! If you have made sense of their reasoning behind
all of their scams please fill me in!
If you feel a seller may actually be a scam artist then Collect
all your correspondence emails, letters, and payments to give to
your local authorities. You can also report them to the Internet
Crime Complaint Center (www.ic3.gov).

Placing A
Deposit: A deposit of
$200.00 is your guarantee that I will not place the puppy/dog of your
choice with someone else. A deposit also serves as my guarantee that you
will be purchasing the puppy/dog specified, therefore a deposit is
non-refundable. I will not hold puppies on your word alone.
You
will be notified when your puppy is ready to come to its new home, your
deposit will hold your puppy an additional 10 days past this time at no
extra fee. During this 10 days we expect that you will make arrangements
with us for the pick-up or shipping of your puppy, and all final amounts
are due. If all details are not finalized we will assume that this puppy
is available for others. If your puppy needs to stay with us
longer than the 10 days as described, boarding is available:

Deposits are non-refundable unless, in the unlikely event something
happens to the puppy here, or your puppy does not pass our vets exam.
(deposit would then be refunded)
I will no longer pre-book flights
or make transportation arrangements without the puppy being paid for in
full.
Payments: Payment plans are an option. I am willing to work with you on most any payment arrangements, just let me know what you have in mind. The easiest, fastest and safest way to make payment would be to wire the funds from your bank to my bank, this is all done within a matter of minutes. Other alternatives are: Cash is accepted at the time of pickup; Paypal is accepted from confirmed accounts with a $5.00 postage fee plus a 3% transaction fee; I do not like Western Union but this is also an option; Personal checks are accepted as deposits and also as payments, All personal checks must clear my bank prior to you picking up your puppy, or the shipping of your puppy! All puppies/dogs remain with me until completely paid for. I do not accept Cashiers Checks or Money Orders due to the Nigerian Check scam warnings on the internet.
ALL DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
Choosing a Male or female puppy: Basically choosing the sex turns out to be a personal preference thing, some people will tell you that they will never have a male dog and others will tell you that they will never have a female dog! A few thing that might help you decide between the two sexes: Have you had a dog before? Was this dog a male or a female? What did you like about this dog and what did you dislike about this dog? Maybe ask a friend with a dog why they choose a male or female? Call your veterinarian and inform him/her that you are considering the idea of adding a new puppy to your home and ask your vet if they think a male or a female would be the right choice for you. If you spay a female and neuter a male, the two really compare closely. If you don't spay a female she will come into heat (season) for about 30 days each time and she would be leaving little red spots all over your house. If you neuter a male at 6 months of age, or before his manly hormonal boost, that will or should eliminate any marking of territory. Marking is a learned habit and if you can cut off the hormones before he learns what marking is, males make wonderful pets. Males are usually a little more affectionate than females, at least that has been my experience!
Pet Quality Puppies versus Show Quality Puppies: Don't let a breeder fool you when they tell you that their puppies are show quality puppies. Being show quality is something that no breeder, no matter how experienced he/she may be, cannot guarantee to you until the puppy has reached at least 6 months of age. If I refer to a puppy as pet quality that does not mean that the puppy is not the best example of his/her breed, that fact is just unknown at that time. I use the difference in terms, of Pet or Show quality, only to describe the puppies destination, meaning the show ring, or a wonderful and loving pet home. A show potential puppy is one that goes beyond the definition of pet quality. These dogs are free of all AKC disqualifying faults. They are not guaranteed to win in the show ring, but AT THE TIME OF ADOPTION, display no structural, cosmetic or temperament faults that would prevent them from attaining a breed championship if handled correctly of course. The fact that a dog may finish a championship does not necessarily mean that it is of breeding quality. Correct phenotype, or what is seen from the outside, does not guarantee correct genotype which would be the genes that are crossed and passed on to the next generation. My puppies may mature to be show quality, and under special circumstances, the AKC limited registration can be lifted, which would allow for showing in all events. Although I would prefer to meet my babies new families in person, I do
understand that this is not always an option for those of you who live so far
away, therefore I offer world wide shipping at an added expense! I prefer to
use Northwest
or Kitty Hawk Air
due to the extra special attention they have paid to my puppies in the
past, but other airlines are always an option at your request! Shipping prices
start at about $250.00 depending on the size of the puppy, the time of year,
and temperatures. All airlines have temperature restrictions in which the
temperatures must be between 10 and 85 degrees in order for me to ship a
puppy, if it is too hot or too cold to ship on a certain day we can go day by
day until the temperatures are alright for shipping. If this happens,
please bare with me, I will get your puppy to you as soon as I can, and Thank

expenses are included. (My travel to and from the airport which is about a 4
hour round trip, the puppies required health papers for the airline, a pet

The condition of this adoption are as follows:
This puppy has had all immunizations and wormings needed according to veterinarian standards for the age of this puppy, and a medical record will be provided. We will have this puppy veterinarian checked prior to shipping, and the veterinarian will issue a health certificate for all puppies shipped.
The puppy you have selected is
guaranteed by Hestekin Hills to the
original adoptor. This puppy appears to be of sound body, and in good
health, as far as appears to the eye at the time of this adoption. The
adoptor is strongly urged to establish a relationship with a
Veterinarian of their choice within 24 hours of the adoption to assure
that they will follow through with this puppies health care. This
puppy is guaranteed until the age of 1 year against hereditary and
congenital disorders that will interfere with the puppy's ability to
lead a normal life, excluding umbilical hernias
which is normal for this breed. Should a veterinarian find such a
hereditary or congenital disorder, you simply supply us with your
veterinarians written report and the report from the OFA
or GDC, stating that this puppy is

Adoptor agrees that if any conditions or terms of the above contract
are violated by the adoptor, the adoptor will pay restitution, which
is equal to the amount already paid. If court actions arise due to
this adoption it is agreed that all court costs and
legal fees incurred will be paid by the adoptor, all actions will be
in Wisconsin Court and be subject to Wisconsin Laws. Adopting a puppy
should not be an impulsive decision and it is your responsibility to
understand that you are making a decision for the lifetime of the
puppy.
